Mr. R.Soundar Rajan of final year B.Tech [Electronics & Media Technology] is selected as a Press Correspondent (Trainee) in Vikatan group of magazines. He got selected under student journalist scheme 2008-09. Totally 1684 students applied and after several tests, 49 got selected and he is one among them. He will be undergoing one year training and during this period he will be writing about the issues happening in Coimbatore district. He will also be contributing to all 8 magazines of vikatan group like Ananda Vikatan, Junior Vikatan, Nanaya Vikatan, Pasumai Vikatan, Motor Vikatan, Sakthi Vikatan, Chutti Vikatan and Aval Vikatan. He will also work for www.vikatan.com.

         The University of Saskatchewan, Canada with whom the Karunya University signed an MOU recently has selected Ms. B. Rajitha & Ms. Manjula Shenoi of the II year M.E. (CSE) students for the sanction of "Graduate Student Exchange Program" Scholarships for the year 2008-09
                The scholarships have a value of $10,000/- each and valid over a period of 6 months.  They shall do their final semester at the University of Saskatchewan.

Sandeep Sagar Gummalla of Final year Electronics & Communication Engineering participated in First phase of an International Globe   Program conducted by NASA world wide. He stood 18th out of 2053 International Participants and his innovation has been proposed for publication as a NASA Tech Brief entitled

  • "Energy Saving Reflective ceiling/wall"

  • "Roads that produce electricity"

Medabalimi Vinay and Susheel Michael Jones of Third year B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering participated in NASA Fundamental Aeronautics Student Competition and they are invited for a brief award presentation on 8th October 2008 at Sheraton Atlanta Hotel in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America.  They will have the privilege of  interacting with eminent Scientists and have discussions with them about the possibility of getting project grants to our University
