Fit India Freedom Run

Karunya Deemed University, Under the guidance of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has organized FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN in its campus and at the hometowns of their students today. Fit India Freedom Run is a movement launched by the Government of India to order to improve the health, reduce fatigue, reduce obesity, relieve stress and reduce anxiety in its citizens. Fit India Freedom Run organized by Karunya Deemed University (KITS) was held with the purpose of bringing health awareness among its staff and students. Due to the pandemic situation prevailing throughout the country, students were motivated to attend the event at their hometowns. More than 200 students participated in this endeavor at their hometowns. 102 professors and staff participated in the run conducted at the University campus this morning.

The event was inaugurated by the Dean of School of Engineering and Technology Dr. Prince Arul raj. The Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Albones Raj, did the flag-off of the run. The participants were greeted by Karunya Trustee, Mr. T. Anand, the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mannar Jawahar and the Registrar, Dr. Elijah Blessing. The event was organized under the leadership of the Head of the Department of Sports and Games, Dr. Kaleb Rajan. E-certificates were issued by the Central Government of India were distributed to the Participants.
