CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT


Process for designing the program curriculum:

The vision and mission of the department are defined to align with the vision and mission of KITS. The Curriculum Development Cell (CDC) also formulates the Programme Educational Objectives (PEO), Program Outcomes (PO) and the Program Specific Outcomes (PSO) .The Curriculum is designed with the involvement of a team of subject experts in consideration with IEEE, AICTE recommendations and Industrial needs. The team ensures that the courses satisfy the departmental Program Outcomes (PO) & Programme Specific Outcomes (PSO).Based on the feedback received from peer teachers, students, alumni, industry experts and academicians, a need analysis is done by board of studies (BOS) members in the department. The members of BOS have discussion in revising the existing syllabus or frame new courses for newly introduced program in respective departments, in line with curriculum composition recommended by Curriculum Development Cell. The Industry Academy Board members play an active role to ensure that the curriculum satisfies the requirements of the industry. The curriculum will be designed and passed through various boards namely Curriculum Development Cell, Board of Studies, Standing Committee, Academic Council and finally Board of Management (BoM). After the approval from BoM, the curriculum is dispatched to the department.


Various skill based courses introduced in our curriculum imparts knowledge on latest Engineering trends which raises the employability potential and also fulfill the local and global needs resulting in development of society. Apart from improving academic skills, social and personal development of students is taken care by offering courses like soft skills, constitution of India, disaster management, human values etc. which leads to up gradation of skills.
