A seminar on Role of Automation in Packaging Industry was organized by the Department of Robotics Engineering on 29th January 2020. The Resource Person, Mr. I. Karthikeyan, Project Lead, Spark Drives and Automation, Coimbatore, gave an insight on the need for Automation in Packaging and the different sensors and devices used in automation.

He also had interactive sessions with the participants and discussed about the possibilities of internships and industrial projects for the students.

The seminar was greatly beneficial to the students and they attained a practical knowledge on the application of sensors and automation in real time industrial applications.

The One Day Workshop was successfully conducted in association with AGIIT. The session started with the History of Robotics, Robot Anatomy, Classification and Application. The Hands On Session was given on ABB Robot Studio in which the participants worked on the various Robot joint movements, Interpolation and so on. It was a highly interactive session in which the students worked on the software and learnt to operate on it.
