The Department provides a good ambience for research and innovation related to the following thrust areas of robotics by utilizing the infrastructure facility and the knowledge expertise available in the institution
- Rehabilitation Robotics: Edu Exo Arm that includes Musculoskeletal extension and sensory feedback for position sensing
- Robot Perception & Manipulation: Autonomous Robots embedded with intelligence to perform various applications
- Mobile Robotics: Path Planning and Navigation of Autonomous Ground Mobile bots using Quansar Qbot 2
- Aerial Robotics: Ambulance Drones for advanced life support.
- Soft Robotics: Grasping and manipulation locomotion assisting devices, prostheses or artificial organs.
Industrial Automation
Research in Industrial Automation covers the application of control theory, modeling, computing and operations for providing solution to control problems of process industries. It includes the following research areas:
