Internships done Abroad by Our Students

Kevin J.D Kevin J.D (UR15BT059)
Internship at National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan

Taiwan is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Filled with beautiful mountains and green pastures, even the air is refreshing. National Dong Hwa University, the place where I did my research has to be one of the most sophisticated and serene places to work. From well established labs to extremely delicious food, NDHU has it all. The people there are very good company and I cherish every minute of time I spent there. My professor Dr. Ruey-Yi Chang is one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to Molecular Virology. My project there was mainly concentrated on cap detection of small flavivirus RNA.
Jeslin Jeba Soundari M (RR15BT001)
Internship at National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan

I’m Jeslin, a doctoral student at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. As I’m working on the Japanese Encephalitis Virus, I was thrilled when I got an offer to visit my co-supervisor, Dr. Ruey-Yi Chang’s virology laboratory for 6 months as an intern through the [email protected] program in 2018. At Dr. Chang’s lab I was given intensive training in molecular biology and virology. I was also able to experience the beautiful culture of Taiwan as I visited many places. This internship opportunity paved the way for me to visit the same laboratory for another 6 months as a visiting scientist through the Taiwan New South Bound Medicine Field Program sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of Taiwan in 2019.
